The Beautiful Blackbird Children’s Book Festival (BBCBF) is back! Help us inspire children across the globe to read, write and draw! Join us in celebrating authors and illustrators from across the African diaspora while honoring roots, identity and resiliency.

This one-of-a-kind festival includes an annual distribution of over 4500 children’s books to Maine families, along with the production of live events, read-along videos, and educational toolkits.

Will you join us as we…

1. Inspire thousands of children across the globe to read, write, or illustrate
2. Provide critical access to Black characters and stories in children’s literature
3. Raise the visibility of Black authors and illustrators
4. Distribute over 4500 free books to children of all backgrounds
5. Share Educator’s Toolkits to classrooms across the country
6. Introduce Black creators to children through videos and virtual interaction
7. Record these stories for a lifetime of inspiration
